Grand Resort Bad Ragaz sits in the foothills of eastern Switzerland, with the thermal water from the Tamina Gorge at the centre of the stay. The water reaches the resort at its natural temperature of 36.5 °C and is part of the hotel’s Thermal Spa, the family water area and the nearby Tamina Therme. Guests can spend a few hours in the pools and saunas or plan a longer visit around spa treatments, exercise and consultations at Tamina Health.

The resort brings together four hotels with distinct settings. Historic Quellenhof offers spacious accommodation close to the thermal facilities. Hof combines a hospitality tradition dating to 1868 with contemporary interiors. Tower places the emphasis on panoramic views and private spa features in selected suites. Palais occupies a historic building and has the atmosphere of a smaller hotel. Depending on the room, views extend over gardens, parkland, mountains or the Bündner Herrschaft wine region.

Tamina Health offers Longevity, Detox, Weight Loss, Recharge and Health Check-up programmes, alongside physiotherapy, nutritional guidance and sports diagnostics. Two golf courses, with 18 and 9 holes, provide options for different levels of play, while walking and cycling routes lead into the surrounding landscape. Dining ranges from inventive Alpine cuisine and sharing menus to Swiss classics and lighter seasonal dishes. The combination works for a short thermal break as well as a longer stay shaped around an individual health programme.

Accommodation at Grand Resort Bad Ragaz

Rooms and suites are spread across Quellenhof, Hof, Tower and Palais. At Quellenhof, classic materials and generous layouts are paired with balconies facing the garden or park; selected categories have separate living rooms and kitchens, while an entire floor can be arranged with additional bedrooms. Hof has a more restrained contemporary style, with connecting rooms and family accommodation among its options. Palais combines historic architectural details with modern conveniences; some rooms overlook the garden or park without a balcony. Tower appeals to guests seeking wide views and a private spa experience: selected suites have thermal water on tap, a sauna and a steam shower. Layout, outlook and facilities vary by category.

This Quellenhof junior suite uses wood and textiles in an open living space with a corner sofa. Its generous balcony offers somewhere to pause after a thermal-spa visit, while the natural-stone bathroom has a bathtub, shower and two sinks.

Hof Grand Deluxe

Palais Suite

The suite in historic Palais has a king-size sleeping area and a comfortable place to sit. Its windows face the garden; this category has no balcony. The bathroom includes a bathtub, shower and double vanity, and an extra bed can be arranged on request.

Tower Spa Suite

The defining feature of this suite is its private spa area with thermal water, a whirlpool tub, sauna and steam shower. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring light into the room, while the spacious balcony looks out over one of the resort’s surrounding landscapes. A sofa provides a separate place to relax.

Palais Imperial Suite

Imperial Suite retains the character of historic Palais through inlaid parquet, stucco ceilings, a tiled stove and a Baroque writing desk. It has a separate living room, and a freestanding bathtub sits outside the main bathroom. The windows face the park; there is no balcony.

The resort is in Bad Ragaz, approximately an hour’s drive from Zurich and St. Gallen. Bad Ragaz railway station is about a ten-minute walk away, and a complimentary station shuttle is available to hotel guests.

The hotel’s Thermal Spa brings together thermal bathing, saunas, relaxation areas and treatment rooms. Its menu includes massages, facials and body treatments, among them the signature Tamina Flow Massage. Private Spa offers a more secluded setting. The separate Tamina Therme complex has thermal pools and a sauna area. Tamina Health adds health programmes, physiotherapy, medical massage, nutritional counselling and rehabilitation.

The resort has the 18-hole Bad Ragaz championship course and the 9-hole Heidiland course, together with a golf academy and shops. Fitness facilities and scheduled classes include yoga and Aqua Fit. Excursions can take guests to the Tamina Gorge, Pizol trails and cycling routes around the region.

The Thermal Spa includes the historic Helenabad bath at approximately 35 °C, a sports pool at approximately 29 °C and an outdoor Garden Pool at approximately 28 °C. Helenabad is for guests aged 16 and over; children aged 12 and under need an accompanying adult in the sports and garden pools. The outdoor pool operates seasonally. Tamina Therme has eight thermal-water pools.

The 550 m² Family Spa has baby and children’s pools, water-play features, sensory showers and a slide. Baby and children’s swimming lessons are available on request, along with selected spa treatments for younger guests. Hof also offers family rooms with separate spaces for parents and children.
