Ananda sits on a hillside above Rishikesh, about 35 km (a 45-minute drive) from Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which receives daily flights from Delhi and other Indian cities. The drive from Delhi takes roughly 4–6 hours by road, or by train (4.5 hours to Haridwar plus a 90-minute drive); helicopter transfers are also available.
The 24,000-square-foot Ananda Spa features 24 treatment rooms and an extensive menu of over 80 body and beauty treatments, integrating traditional Indian Ayurveda with contemporary Western spa approaches. The menu includes Ayurvedic doctor consultations, Panchakarma programmes, yoga and meditation, international massage and facial experiences, Oriental (Tibetan) practices, emotional healing and physiotherapy. The spa experience is designed to achieve harmony between the physical and mental realms.
The resort features one temperature-controlled, aquamarine-toned swimming pool set on a hillside overlooking the valley, flanked by natural forest on one side and the spa on the other. There is no beach on site.
The Restaurant — the resort's signature restaurant, set amid century-old Sal trees overlooking the Rishikesh valley; serves Indian, Asian and Western cuisine prepared with an emphasis on light, healthy meals guided by Ayurvedic dosha principles.
Palace Lounge — a warm, atmospheric lounge within the Viceregal Palace building, decorated with antique furniture and portraits; the venue where guests check in over a ginger-lemon infusion, and unwind with tea or a book.
By The Pool — a poolside lounge overlooking the valley, serving fresh juices, shakes and lassis from a dedicated pool menu.
