National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology OAE (NCMS) called on motorists to exercise caution on the roads today, reduce speed and leave sufficient distance between vehicles because of a strong north-west dust wind on the open.
In the Centre ' s statement, it was noted that at night on the coasts there would be increased humidity with a gradual reduction in temperature. The active area of the sand storm will have to be Abu Dhabi and the Western region.
In coastal areas, as in the interior, the maximum daily temperature will be 42 °C. The minimum night temperature in the coastal areas would be 26 °C, compared with 24 °C inside the country. The relative humidity of the air will reach 85 per cent in coastal areas and 80 per cent in the interior.
The Gulf of Persian Sea will be extremely disturbing; in the Gulf of Oman, the wind will be weak to moderate. Partial clouds and fogs at sea and coastal zones are expected for two days.
Unfavourable weather conditions will extend until 12 June.
