Mont Cervin Palace is a historic five-star hotel in the heart of Zermatt, one of Switzerland’s best-known Alpine resorts. Its history began in 1852, when Hotel Mont Cervin opened with just 14 guest beds; over the decades it became one of the village’s landmark addresses, developing alongside Zermatt’s emergence as an international Alpine destination. Today, Mont Cervin Palace retains the character of a traditional grand hotel while combining its heritage with modern facilities and immediate access to the life of the car-free village centre. Accommodation is spread across interconnected buildings with three distinct design concepts: classic Alpine Rooms are located in the Main Buildings, predominantly wood-panelled Chalet Rooms occupy Le Petit Cervin, and spacious Family Suites are housed in the Résidence. Many rooms look towards the Matterhorn or the surrounding four-thousand-metre peaks. One of the hotel’s principal facilities is the 1,700 sqm Spa Nescens, which includes an indoor swimming pool, summer outdoor pool, two whirlpools, a dedicated children’s pool, saunas, steam baths, fitness facilities and an extensive treatment programme. The hotel’s own dining collection includes Grill Le Cervin, Joseph’s Restaurant & Bar, winter-only Italian restaurant Ristorante Capri, Capri Bar and Salon Davidoff. Families are catered for with the Mini Cervin Kids Club and spacious family accommodation suitable for multi-generational stays. From its Bahnhofstrasse location, the railway station, boutiques, Zermatt’s historic centre and ski lifts can all be reached within a few minutes on foot.
Mont Cervin Palace offers 150 rooms and suites distributed across interconnected buildings and organised around three principal design concepts. Alpine Rooms in the Main Buildings combine quality materials with an elegant classic Alpine aesthetic. Le Petit Cervin houses Chalet Rooms characterised by extensive use of wood, a warm traditional mountain atmosphere and selected categories facing the Matterhorn. The Résidence is home to spacious Family Suites designed for families, longer stays and increased privacy, with configurations including separate bedrooms, living and dining areas, fireplaces, whirlpool baths and, in selected suites, a kitchenette or private sauna. Accommodation ranges from compact 18–20 sqm single rooms to the 136 sqm Matterhorn Suite and the 129 sqm Family Duplex Suite. Views depend on orientation and can encompass the Matterhorn, Zermatt’s rooftops and historic village centre, the Mischabel range with the Dom and Täschhorn, and other surrounding four-thousand-metre peaks.

One of the hotel’s most spacious suites, the Matterhorn Suite is located in the Main Buildings and combines classic Alpine style with panoramic views of the Matterhorn. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a bathroom with Jacuzzi, shower and WC. The generous living room features an open fireplace and separate dining room, while a 28 sqm panoramic window directly frames the Matterhorn. A south-facing balcony overlooks Zermatt’s rooftops, and the suite can be connected with an adjacent Alpine Superior room.

Mont Cervin Palace is located at Bahnhofstrasse 31 in the centre of car-free Zermatt, at approximately 1,600 metres above sea level and around a five-minute walk from the railway station; the ski lifts are also within a few minutes on foot. Private cars may travel only as far as Täsch, 5 km from Zermatt, from where Matterhorn Gotthard shuttle trains and taxis connect with the resort; limousine, bus and taxi transfers can also be arranged on request.
