The hotel is located 14 kilometres from the Eddo National Park, in the private Shamwari Game Reserve, 70 kilometres from the city and Port Elizabeth Airport. The Chemwari Reserve is particularly interested in its eco-programme, and has received numerous international awards for five consecutive years, including World's Leading Conservation Company and Game Reserve. The Reserve also participates in an animal rescue and habitat programme with the Born Free Foundation. The Safari in this reserve includes the observation of the " big five " , the left, the buffalo, the nostril, the leopard and the elephant. Lobengula Lodge is part of a chain of small hotels located on the Reserve. The compound was located in the middle of a calm valley growing up by a handicraft, and consists of several " rural " cottages of stones covered by broken roofs. Doms are connected to each other and to the main building of vegetation roads and wooden bridges with the feathers. This exotic hotel is a clear example of South Africa ' s modern " rural " style.
