As early as 500 years ago, the famous physician Paracelsus noted that the Mauritius spring and its surrounding area had a unique healing effect. Since then, people have come to St. Moritz not only to relax but also to recuperate thanks to the spring's therapeutic properties. Another advantage of the resort is its location in the heart of St. Moritz's sports district, near the ski slopes and lifts of Corviglia, making it attractive not only to professional athletes but also to winter sports enthusiasts.

For longer stays, the hotel offers apartments in the Kempinski Residence. Situated near the Signalbahn and cross-country ski slopes, the Kempinski Residence offers guests apartments in close proximity to the Medical Center, where specialists in various fields are available for consultation. All hotel room services are also available at the Kempinski Residence.
To ensure guests feel at home, the Kempinski Residence offers 29 comfortable apartments ranging from 100 to 400 m². The building consists of a ground floor, an upper floor, and an attic. The Maloja and Corviglia towers also feature a second attic floor. The white Residence building with blue shutters and balconies adjoins the Spa Center and Spa Suite building. Depending on the area (from 100 to 400 sq m), apartments consist of spacious rooms with living space ranging from 25 to 100 sq m, adjoining terraces and winter gardens (on the ground floor), as well as, if needed, several bedrooms, bathrooms and walk-in closets, living rooms, and a kitchen. Depending on the apartment's size, one or two garage parking spaces are reserved for guests.

The Kempinski Grand Hotel is the only hotel in St. Moritz directly located on the cross-country and downhill ski slopes.
The legendary Hahnensee ski run ends behind the hotel. The Engadin cross-country ski run runs directly in front of the hotel, and a cross-country ski school is located in the hotel park.
The ski lifts to Corviglia are located opposite the hotel.
