Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa: A New Chapter for a Legendary Hotel

21.08.2026

After a complete two-year renovation, Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa has reopened in fairytale Baden-Baden, the favourite resort of Europe’s aristocracy (Germany). This grand hotel with 150 years of history, the jewel of the Oetker Hotels collection, combines the timeless art of hospitality with the latest advances in the industry.

Interiors

The renovation was led by Countess Bergit Douglas of MM Design, who also oversaw the new look of Le Bristol Paris and the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes. Brenners has more than 27 unique room concepts, each one individual. Connecting rooms suit large families, and the refined, homely interiors appeal to long-stay guests. The crowning glory is the Parkvilla for up to 20 guests.

The decor combines Beaux-Arts refinement with English comfort: patterned upholstery, antique writing desks, chests of drawers made by local craftsmen, and fabrics and wallpapers by Colefax and Fowler, Pierre Frey and De Gournay, in soft coral, powder blue, sage and cream. Marble bathrooms with the latest lighting and handcrafted fittings unite modern comfort with centuries-old craftsmanship, while 19th-century timber beams, revealed for the first time during the renovation, underline the building’s heritage.

Experiences

The renewal extends beyond the look of the hotel to the guest experience. At its heart is the award-winning Brenners Spa & Wellbeing, combining high-tech diagnostics with a holistic approach. From Augustinus Bader facials to detox rituals, from candlelit sound baths to shinrin-yoku forest bathing, body and soul are restored here, proving that harmony and beauty are a way of life. Brenners Medical Care, led by some of Germany’s leading doctors, offers personalised 5- to 14-day programmes to help you stay younger and full of energy for longer.

Brenners also opens the doors to culture and art, from the Festspielhaus to the Museum Frieder Burda. Nature lovers can enjoy mountaintop yoga and hiking, vineyard picnics, horse racing at Iffezheim and golf. The Lichtentaler Allee, the River Oos and the Black Forest are perfect for walks, vintage car and carriage tours bring the resort’s history to life, and fortresses, castles and palace gardens add to the area’s significance.

The kitchen is led by Sebastian Haverkemper, who has worked with Mandarin Oriental, Hotel Sacher and Schloss Elmau, while the restaurant Fritz & Felix is headed by Farid Fazel, who has cooked for Ban Ki-moon and Barack Obama.

Responsibility

The hotel follows the principles of corporate social responsibility, proving that luxury and care for nature go hand in hand. Antique wallpapers become notebooks, bookmarks and cushion covers; century-old bricks and timber gain a second life; and local and renewable materials are used wherever possible. Restoring roof tiles and taps cuts CO2 emissions by 40% compared with producing new ones, and climate control runs on local networks. By working with regional companies, Brenners has supported the economy of south-west Germany, created jobs and apprenticeships and ensured its team gained international experience during the renovation.
