Day 6 SYDNEY – KANGAROO ISLAND

- 15:00 – Check-in at the Southern Ocean Lodge for 3 nights
Kangaroo Island, the third largest island in Australia, has long gained fame as a unique corner of the earth, beckoning with its pristine purity and becoming a haven for many rare species of animals and plants. Environmentalists, biologists, ornithologists and other scientists constantly come here for their scientific research, as well as just lovers of wildlife and numerous tourists for personal pleasure. In addition to the very friendly kangaroos (by the way, their own species, living only on this island), there is a colony of fur seals and lions in natural conditions, and you can also see wombats, echidnas and other Australian animals, including numerous koalas, which were brought here from the continent as part of a program to save the endangered population of these amazing marsupials. Another unique attraction of Kangaroo Island is its cute, tiny penguins, making a nightly pilgrimage to the coast of Penneshaw and not at all objecting to the presence of enchanted observers with photo and video cameras.
Day 7 KANGAROO ISLAND
The island is covered by more than 1,000 km of roads, making it possible to get to almost any point. The island's protected area includes 59,000 hectares of Flinders National Park, 12 small reserves and protected nesting sites for seabirds. Interestingly, 450 km of the Kangaroo Island coastline are in their original, untouched state, so tourists who follow Robinson Crusoe simply must visit here (skipping, of course, the shipwreck stage!).
However, you should not starve yourself if you do not have the skills to survive in the wild: the island has restaurants and cafes for tourists, where you can taste the freshest locally produced products. And if you are interested in wine and/or wine products, you are welcome to taste wines from over 30 farms from Cape Willoughby to Kingscote. Then you can watch pink pelicans soaring overhead, fur seals lying on the sands of Seal Bay, and lazy koalas sleeping in their eucalyptus trees (it would be a good idea to stock up on opera glasses). And at night, settle down on the sand at Penneshaw and wait for little penguins - you won't regret it!
