Kipungani Explorer - Lamu Island
Hotel description
The hotel is located on Lama Island, 45 minutes on a plane from Mombasa Airport. The island is separated from the mainland by a narrow strait. The hotel is in its southern part, on the shore of Kipungani Bay. A coral reef-protected lagoon is the perfect place for underwater navigation.
The bungalow (banda), which consists of the Kipungani Explorer complex, is built from the mangrove, isolated by the growing island, which is the main wealth of Lama. The building roofs of palm leaves, makuti, give the bungalow similar to the traditional home of local fishermen. Banda is standing at a sufficient distance from each other to ensure the privacy and peace of guests.
There's a bar and restaurant in the hotel, a library, a water sports center. Safari, guided tours and special programmes for fishermen are organized.The hotel is located on Lama Island, 45 minutes on a plane from Mombasa airport, one and a half hours on a plane from Nairobi and Wilson airport.
At hotel 14 bungalow (banda). The bungalow is located in the immediate vicinity of the beach, surrounded by spray trees. It's the ocean view. The plates are filled with furniture from a mangrove tree, manually manufactured by workshops from the nearby village of Kipungani. Like any local dwelling, the floors in the bungalow are stunned by mkeka zin. Each room consists of a bedroom, a mini-gosty in the east style with couches, a bathroom with a shower cubic and a veranda. The palace services are provided for each room.

The hotel ' s restaurant is located in a separate bungalow with a view to the ocean and a massive wooden furniture is provided, and the adjacent bar can rest on soft couches and low couches with cushioned pillows. In the menu, mostly fish meals prepared in Kenya ' s recipes with aromatic specials. Vegetables, fruits and fish are purchased in a local village and some products are specially delivered from Mombasa or Nairobi.
