Saffire Freycinet is an intimate luxury lodge in Tasmania whose philosophy centres on a profound sense of place, nature and stillness. The property presents a stay here as an opportunity to slow down, breathe and become completely immersed in the surrounding landscape. Architecture, accommodation and curated experiences are shaped around the natural environment of Freycinet, with the coast, Great Oyster Bay and the striking Hazards mountain range forming an essential part of the stay. Saffire operates as a luxury all-inclusive retreat, bringing dining, beverages and signature experiences into the overall guest experience.
Accommodation incorporates Tasmanian timbers, natural materials and Australian design. Each category creates its own relationship with the landscape, from the private decks of the Luxury Suites to the bath overlooking the water and the Hazards in the Signature Suites and the more expansive living and dining spaces of the Private Pavilions. The collection is being extended with Saffire Jewel, a new three-bedroom private villa spanning 800 sq. m., scheduled to open in late 2026.
Experiences are designed around Tasmania's nature, culture, produce and sense of place. Guests can step into a working oyster farm during the Freycinet Oyster Farm experience, discover First Nations stories through Connection to Country and explore the surrounding environment through carefully curated activities. Palate Restaurant is reserved exclusively for in-house guests and celebrates Tasmania's finest seasonal produce. Spa Saffire continues the connection to the landscape through native botanicals, mineral-rich ingredients and heated stones carved from the pink granite of the Hazards. Saffire Freycinet was awarded Two MICHELIN Keys in 2025.
Accommodation at Saffire Freycinet is offered in several formats, each designed around the surrounding landscape and views towards the Hazards. Luxury Suites feature Tasmanian timbers and Australian design and open onto private decks. Signature Suites add greater space and a deep bath positioned to overlook the water towards the Hazards. Private Pavilions are presented as the most spacious of the resort's currently available suite categories, with separate living and dining areas and a kitchenette. A further accommodation concept, Saffire Jewel, is a three-bedroom 800 sq. m. private residence with expansive indoor-outdoor living, scheduled to open in late 2026.
