Safari in Amboseli
Amboseli is known for its large elephant herds, open plains, wetlands and views of Mount Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania. Buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and predators may also be seen, although individual sightings cannot be guaranteed.

When to visit
The park offers year-round game viewing. During drier periods, wildlife tends to gather around permanent water sources, while the rains create greener landscapes and attract more birds. Kilimanjaro is often clearest in the morning but may be hidden by cloud.
Choosing a lodge
Staying inside the park can reduce travel time for early game drives. Properties outside the gates may provide a quieter setting, although transfer distances should be considered. Amboseli also combines well with a broader Kenya safari itinerary.
