North Island is a small granitic island located near Mahé and home to one of the Seychelles’ most exclusive resorts. With only 11 villas, three principal beaches and extensive restored natural areas, it is suited to couples, families and travellers seeking highly personalised service in a low-density setting.
Transfers from Mahé International Airport are normally operated by helicopter and take approximately 15 minutes. Flight schedules, baggage restrictions and total passenger weight should be considered when arranging international connections.
North Island villas
The villas are positioned along East Beach and surrounded by tropical vegetation. Each provides a bedroom, spacious living areas, a terrace, its own swimming pool and direct beach access. Villa North, the resort’s largest accommodation category, occupies an elevated position overlooking the ocean.
Electric buggies are provided for travelling around the island. Daily schedules, menus, beach dinners and visits to different parts of the coastline can be arranged around individual preferences.
Beaches and ocean experiences
East Beach provides convenient access from the villas, West Beach is known for its sunset views, and Honeymoon Cove can be reached for a few hours beside the sea. Swimming and snorkelling conditions vary with the season, tides and prevailing winds.
Activities can include diving, deep-sea fishing, snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding and boat excursions. The island also has a spa, fitness centre and yoga facilities.
Island restoration and wildlife
North Island’s conservation programme focuses on restoring indigenous vegetation and protecting native wildlife. Aldabra giant tortoises live on the island, while green and hawksbill turtles nest on its beaches. Guests can learn about wildlife monitoring and habitat restoration alongside the conservation team.
Nesting and hatching periods vary between species, and individual wildlife encounters cannot be guaranteed.
A stay of five to seven nights provides sufficient time to experience the island. North Island can also be combined with Mahé, Praslin, La Digue or another Seychelles island resort.
