Bespoke Travel to Greece
Greece brings together seaside stays, ancient heritage, regional cuisine and journeys between islands. An itinerary may focus on a single coastline or combine Athens and the Peloponnese with two neighbouring islands.
When to Visit Greece
The main beach season runs from late spring to early autumn. July and August offer a lively island atmosphere but also bring the highest temperatures and visitor numbers. June and September are quieter while the sea remains pleasantly warm.
Spring and autumn are well suited to Athens, archaeological sites, vineyards and journeys across the mainland. During winter, some island hotels and restaurants close, making mainland Greece a more practical choice.
Choosing an Island or Coastline
The Cyclades are known for whitewashed architecture, arid scenery and intimate coves. The Ionian islands offer greener landscapes and rewarding sailing routes. Crete deserves a journey of its own, while Halkidiki and the Peloponnese suit travellers seeking spacious coastal hotels and mainland exploration.
For a shorter stay, one island is usually sufficient. Journeys of ten days or more can combine two neighbouring islands, provided ferry times and connections are confirmed before booking hotels.
Choosing a Hotel
Important considerations include the beach setting, water access, prevailing winds, distance from the room to the sea and nearby dining. Families may prioritise calm water, spacious accommodation and an easy airport journey. Couples may prefer an intimate hotel or secluded villa with the option of a private cruise.
