Hotel selection should consider heating, road access and distance from planned excursions as well as room category. Travel times can be longer than expected because the region’s roads are steep and winding.

Nuwara Eliya combines naturally with Kandy, the wider tea country and an onward journey to Ella. The route can then continue towards national parks or a coastal stay.
