Opened in 1870, the Grand Hotel Wien was conceived by the prominent architect of the time, Karl Tietz, as the epitome of the refined architectural style of the Ringstrasse (Vienna's famous Boulevard Ring), reflecting the refined splendor of the imperial era and the unique charm of the city of waltzes.
