The hotel's story reminds me of a kind of adventure, when in the early 1970s, Atul Panabokke Tea Plantator decided to set up a hotel here, no one believed in this risky business. However, a desperate entrepreneur, along with his wife, has opened a small guesthouse with a cozy atmosphere that combines the charm of the colonial era, Sri Lanka ' s tradition and its welcome hospitality.
Today, Mahaweli Reach Sri Lanka, still belonging to the Panamanian family, has become the first-class hotel to maintain its own special ball.
