Tailor-made ski holidays in Les Arcs

Les Arcs is a French Alpine resort in the Tarentaise Valley, formed by several purpose-designed villages at different elevations. Its architecture follows the contours of the mountains, while its pistes descend from the open high-altitude terrain of Aiguille Rouge towards the forests of Peisey-Vallandry and Villaroger.

The resort forms part of Paradiski, linking Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne. A full-area lift pass provides access to 425 kilometres of pistes, while the Vanoise Express cable car connects the Les Arcs and La Plagne sectors.

Skiing in Les Arcs and Paradiski

Les Arcs combines broad blue and red pistes with beginner areas, demanding high-altitude descents and sheltered woodland skiing. First-time skiers can learn on slopes close to the resort villages. Intermediate guests can explore Arc 1600, Arc 1800 and Peisey-Vallandry without repeating the same routes each day.

Experienced skiers are drawn to the terrain around Aiguille Rouge, which rises above 3,200 metres, and the extended descent towards Villaroger. Access to the upper mountain depends on wind, visibility and snow conditions. Off-piste itineraries should only be attempted with a qualified mountain guide.

Choosing the right village

Arc 1800 provides the liveliest atmosphere, a broad choice of restaurants and convenient access to the central slopes. Pedestrianised Arc 1950 combines carefully considered architecture, slope-side accommodation and a more intimate rhythm. Arc 2000 offers efficient access to the high-altitude sectors, while Arc 1600 has a calmer setting and a convenient funicular connection with Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

Accommodation includes high-end hotels, residences, apartments and chalets. The selection should consider more than advertised ski-in access: the nearest lift, ski-school meeting point, difficulty of the home run and evening facilities can all shape the stay.

Beyond the slopes

Alternative activities include snowshoe walks, toboggan runs, swimming pools, spas and scenic lift journeys. An itinerary can also include lunch at a mountain restaurant, a full day of skiing in La Plagne or a visit to traditional villages in the valley.
