What associations do you have in Hamburg? The biggest German seaport, industrial city, famous Riperban... Yeah, it's all true, but Hamburg can brag far beyond that.
Indeed, Hamburg is the largest German port (as well as the second in Europe and the seventh in the world), but it is not at sea! The city is located on the Elbe River, 120 kilometres from the North Sea, and the port may accept any tonnage vessels. Hamburg is strategically advantageous at the intersection of water, road and rail. But Hamburg is not only a landfill of goods produced in all corners of the Earth, but its own industry is also developing successfully in the city.

Hamburg is Germany ' s second largest population (1.7 million) and is in fact the capital of North Germany. The full name of the city is the Free and Hansey City of Hamburg. However, it is not just a city: Hamburg is also one of the 16 federal Länder of the FWG.
The city is 755 square kilometres, seven times the size of Paris, and twice the size of London. Through this relatively low population density, the city can provide comfort and quality of life to its inhabitants.
