Program
Day 1.
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
Meet your English-speaking guide at the airport.
Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater (2.5 hours)
The name of the crater comes from the Maasai word "Likorongo". This was the name of the ancient Maasai warrior tribes who defended their land from invading invaders. The upper tier of the crater is a dry rocky area covered with thorny bushes.
Day 2.
Breakfast at the lodge.
Excursion to the bottom of the Ngorongoro Crater.
You will have a six-hundred-meter descent into the crater of an extinct volcano. It is included in the UNESCO list of "Natural Heritage of the Earth" and is the largest caldera on Earth with preserved sides. The inner plateau covers an area of over 8,300 square kilometers. The diversity of the animal world is considered unique. It also has the highest density of lions per square kilometer. A picnic with lions in the crater. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is unique in its habitat, which has developed over many years. Since the animals are unable to climb over the high walls of the crater, they are isolated from the outside world. The number of large animals living here exceeds 25 thousand individuals. Among them, small dik-dik antelopes, elephants and giraffes are often found. Below, on the plain, huge herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles graze. Predators hunt nearby - big-eared foxes and three species of jackals, including striped ones. Elephants and buffalos come to the deepest part of the crater, where there is a lake surrounded by swamps. Near the swamps you can meet reed goats, cheetahs, hyenas and dark-maned lions.
In the afternoon, transfer to the Serengeti National Park.
Day 3.
Breakfast at the hotel.
Full day safari in the Serengeti.
The Serengeti is the world's greatest treasure trove of wildlife. The name "Serengeti" comes from the Maasai language and roughly means "long place." It is along this long place that millions of zebras, wildebeests, topi, impalas and Grant's gazelles pass each year in search of food. Here they are born and die. They die, as a rule, in the jaws of predators. Here nature appears before you in its natural pristineness and cruelty. Here you will see the Earth as it was before you and I littered it. This is where people from all over the world come to see huge herds of buffalo, elephants and giraffes, and of course predators. The reserve is located between the shores of Lake Victoria in the west, Lake Eyasi in the south and the Great Rift Valley in the east. About the size of Northern Ireland, it is the most complex ecosystem on Earth. The landscape, originally shaped by volcanic activity, now consists of savannah in the south and center and forested hills in the north. Small rivers, lakes and swamps are scattered throughout the Serengeti.
Day 4.
Breakfast at the lodge.
Departure to Lake Manyara National Park, which is located at an altitude of 950 m, between the alkaline lake of the same name and the mountains of the Great Rift Valley. The name of the park comes from the Maasai word “manyara”, which means one of the local plants. The place is very picturesque. The most diverse landscapes merge here: sparkling lakes, hot springs, dense forests and steep cliffs. In this reserve you can meet all of Africa's Big Five. Here you can see lions climbing trees. Because of the very dense forests and tall grass, they climb high acacia trees to look out for prey. This park has one of the highest elephant densities in the world - 7 elephants per square kilometer. It is also a paradise for waterfowl, of which there are more than 400 species. Here you can meet huge colorful birds - rhinoceroses, kingfishers, many species of eagles, and of course, pelicans and flamingos.
