The town of Slano is a small tourist center 40 km from Dubrovnik.
Slano is located in a cozy bay with sandy beaches and rich Mediterranean vegetation. Many unique historical and cultural monuments have been preserved in Slano to this day - for example, Roman burials from the 5th century, a palace from the 15th century, a Franciscan monastery and several churches and chapels from the 14th - 18th centuries.
In recent years, Slano has become popular among tourists who like to stay in hotels, and those who prefer to relax in private apartments and villas, as well as among fans of yachting, since the 2 km long bay of Slano is protected from the winds.
