Holidays in Toronto, Ontario
The shining skyscreams, old mansions, painting parks, museums, theatres and stadiums of Toronto, the largest city of Canada, have spread on the coastal plain of the vast Lake Ontario. The original name " Toronto " , at the end of the sixteenth century, was in the area near the northern coast of Ontario, marking the " venue of meetings " from the Indian language. In 1787, British people bought about 1,000 square kilometres of land and on 29 July 1793 Governor John Graves Simcoe chose Toronto as a place for the capital of Upper Canada, justifying the city of York, which began near the islands and degraded to the deep of the Territory, and finally, in 1834, the city was renamed Toronto. Toronto today is not only Canada ' s largest city, but also a business, industrial and cultural international centre with landscapes, numerous historical and cultural features, comfortable and modern recreational and business environments. Toronto is indeed a " place of meeting " of a variety of nationalities, cultures and traditions united in the vast megapolis of the 21st century.
The Toronto climate is moderate, four seasons are set, but winter and summer are the most pronounced because spring is very short and the fall begins from mid-August. The winters are snowy, but not very cold, compared to the rest of Canada, summer is usually long and not very hot.
